Game Audio Studio Builder
The art of recording and editing sound for games is a specialist area requiring a specific, exacting acoustic environment. It’s a given that any recorded sound must be of exceptional quality/fidelity; this places significant demands on both the studio environment and the audio recording equipment itself.
Character voice assets must be recorded without any room acoustic effect. The requirement is a neutral recording, often with an increased bandwidth of up to 100Khz. This additional resolution allows for the later application of multiple effect processes in sound design without audible degradation in sound quality.
Having taken time out to research and understand this unique range of requirements, Smart Studio has been tweaked specifically to address the need of games audio people. The inclusion of additional mid/high-frequency absorption is a subtle change, giving an increase in absorption for recording the human voice in a way which is totally free of any room artefacts, but which still sounds natural and untreated.
The net effect is that an In-Office Smart Studio room is the ideal environment to host and complete all critical audio recording and mixes. Not only is Smart Studio a world-class professional studio environment, but when situated on-premises Smart Studio offers additional content security, operational efficiency and project schedule control.
Keeping the acquisition process in-house from start to finish, in one or more Smart Studio rooms, creates a consistency of sound across all audio assets which is difficult or impossible to achieve when outsourcing voice records to external facilities.
Additional features such as fixed contract pricing, speed of deployment, minimal disruption during install, integrated cable management and a wide range of interior finish choices ensure that all of the critical boxes are easy to tick.
How much does a recording studio cost?
Our complete studio builds start from €30,000. Our cost per square metre is very competitive with high end studio builders. See our cost estimator for more detailed estimates.
There are options to fund the installation of a Smart Studio through leasing; easing the short term capital demands of creating much larger long-term efficiencies.
High Sound Insulation
While other versions of modular studio builds suffer from poor levels sound insulation, Smart Studio system do not. When it comes to delivering on this critical aspect of a studio build, we build box within a box.
Our rooms are built off isolated floor platforms. Walls are decoupled for any/all surrounding structures and the ceiling is supported independently of the walls.
Excellent Room Acoustics
Our approach is to deliver a neutral and natural room acoustic.
But what does that mean?
In the 63hz and the 125hz octave bands we design for an RT time of 0.3 of a second. This guarantees that the room doesn’t suffer from any resonant frequency problems which can manifest themselves as differences in sound depending on where you happen to be standing in the room. This is achieved through a significant amount of panel absorption being incorporated into the room finishes.
We use a considerable amount of 2D diffusion in our designs. Our rooms benefit greatly from the use of diffusion which controls the RT time but delivers an open and natural acoustic environment.
Custom Interior Design
We have huge amount of colours available. We can send a sample swatch out to you when your choosing your colour scheme.
Wherever you want to put your acoustic windows , we design it as standard.
Our music studios feature a range of custom wall mounted diffusion panels to tune the room acoustics. We advise on the placment and requiremnet for these as standard, and there are a number of different designs and finishes available to choose from.
We provide a choice of carpet or a wooden floor depending on the aesthetic requirments. Its also possible to specify whatever floor finish you want as an added extra easily.
We include dimmable LED lighting as standard with our Smart Studios. However, custom extras can be easily added at the design stage.
